Panorama Europe Film Fest announces 2015 slate April 30, 2015 - 11:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Panorama Europe Film Festival has announced its 2015 slate of 16 films to screen starting May 29 at the Museum of the Moving Image and the Bohemian National Hall in New York, Variety reports. The festival, now in its seventh year and formerly known as Disappearing Act, showcases contemporary European films, and is presented by the Museum of the Moving Image and the European Union National Institutes for Culture. Prior to the official festival start, short European films will screen on May 28 at Tribeca Cinemas, followed by a party, as part of the New York Portuguese Short Film Festival. The official opening weekend features films “Gods” and “Bota (The World)” with conversations with the filmmakers and receptions to follow. Closing out the festival is “Violet,” which will be preceded by live music by the Flemish band St. Grandson in the museum’s courtyard. The festival board is headed by Kristýna Milde and chaired by the Czech Center. It is also comprised of the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the Goethe-Institut New York, the Hungarian Cultural Center, the Italian Cultural Institute, the Onassis Foundation (USA), the Consulate General of Greece and the Polish Cultural Institute New York. Additional festival partners include the Albanian Institute, the Arte Institute, the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia and Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Consulate General of Estonia, the Consulate General of Spain, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, the General Representation of the Government of Flanders to the U.S., the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia and Slovenian Film Centre and Instituto Cervantes.
