"Cube" sci-fi thriller to get remake, "Prometheus" scribe attachedMay 1, 2015 - 12:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Lionsgate is developing a re-imagining of the 1997 sci-fi thriller, "Cube", under the title "Cubed". As AceShowbiz said citing The Hollywood Reporter, Saman Kesh, who is best known for his 2013 short sci-fi film "Controller", is attached to direct the thriller. "Cube" will be produced by Roy Lee ("How to Train Your Dragon" and "The Lego Movie") and "Prometheus" and "The Darkest Hour" script writer John Spaihts. Philip Gawthorne is attached to this project as script writer. The original movie, "Cube", centered on a group of seven strangers who surprisingly woke up in a giant cube. They were trapped in the deadly room, in which each of them must solve difficult puzzles to hopefully gain their freedom and find out what has brought them together in that place. The film which was originally directed by Vincenzo Natali was followed with both a sequel, "Cube 2: Hypercube", in 2002, and a prequel, "Cube Zero", in 2004. Written by Natali alongside Andre Bijelic and Graeme Manson, the original "Cube" stars Nicole DeBoer, Nicky Guadagni, David Hewlet, Andrew Miller, Julian Richings, Wayne Robson and Maurice Dean Wint.
