The social network told TechCrunch that it is adding the mapping data to its core application, as well as Messenger and Instagram. The trial is said to be limited to Android devices at present, with iOS and Windows Phone tests expected to come later. A Facebook representative said that Here Maps integration will give users "more control and flexibility in delivering a consistent maps experience". News of Nokia's partnership with Facebook comes amid rumours that the firm is planning to table a bid for Here Maps, which is valued at around $2 billion. However, it could face competition from a string of other suitors, including Samsung, Apple, Yahoo and Uber.
