Meryl Streep as hard-rocking singer in “Ricki & the Flash” trailer (video)  May 7, 2015 - 09:29 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for TriStar’s “Ricki and the Flash,” which stars Meryl Streep as hard-rocking singer/guitarist, TheWrap reports. Jonathan Demme directed from a script by fellow Oscar winner Diablo Cody. Streep plays Ricki Rendazzo, a guitar heroine who made a world of mistakes as she followed her dreams of rock-and-roll stardom. Returning home, Ricki gets a shot at redemption and a chance to make things right as she faces the music with her family. Streep stars opposite her real-life daughter Mamie Gummer; Kevin Kline as Ricki’s ex-husband; Audra McDonald as Kline’s new wife; and Rick Springfield, who plays a member of the Flash who is in love with Ricki. Sebastian Stan also co-stars in the film, which is slated to hit theaters on Aug. 7. Cody produced the film with Mason Novick, Marc Platt and Gary Goetzman, while executive producers were Ron Bozman, Adam Siegel, Lorene Scafaria and Ben Waisbren.
