Emmy winner Aaron Paul to star in “The Parts You Lose” drama

PanARMENIAN.Net - Aaron Paul is set to star in the suspenseful drama “The Parts You Lose”, which Oscar-nominated Dutch filmmaker Paula van der Oest will direct from a script by Darren Lemke, it was announced by Myriad Pictures, which is handling international sales at Cannes, TheWrap reports.

“The Parts You Lose” centers on Wesley, an 8-year-old hearing-impaired boy who encounters an injured and potentially dangerous fugitive in his small North Dakota town. The two form an unlikely friendship and Wesley finds an unexpected refuge from the troubles of his home and school life.

The film is expected to be a German-Canadian co-production and production is slated to start in Manitoba, Canada at the end of the year. UTA Independent Film Group and Myriad Pictures will co-represent the film’s U.S. rights.

“The Parts You Lose” reunites Paul with his “Breaking Bad” producer Mark Johnson, who will produce with Tom Williams through their company Gran Via Productions. Paul will produce through his company Lucid Road Productions. Buffalo Gal Pictures will be the Canadian co-producer with Buffalo Gal’s Phyllis Laing and Rhonda Baker producing. Myriad’s president/CEO Kirk D’Amico will executive produce with Emily Alden of Pacific Northwest Pictures, which plans to distribute the film in Canada.

“This extraordinarily original script really caught our attention. We are so pleased to be working with such a strong production team headed by Mark Johnson and Tom Williams, and with director Paula van der Oest who will bring her unique vision to this film,” said D’Amico.

The project was brought to Myriad by its senior VP of marketing and acquisitions Audrey Delaney. Myriad’s Thomas Loftus, senior VP of business and legal affairs negotiated international sales rights to the film for Myriad Pictures, with UTA Independent Film Group negotiating on behalf of the filmmakers.
