The film follows the minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob as they recruited by Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb (Jon Hamm), hatches a plot to take over the world. In the trailer, Scarlet wants the minions help in stealing the Crown Jewels from the Queen of England. However, things do not go according to plan, with Bob going so far as to declare himself king. The film is a prequel to “Despicable Me,” in which Steve Carell played a supervillain named Gru who finds himself mending his evil ways when he takes in three orphan girls. “Minions” opens in theaters July 10.
