Amazon Echo update lets users shop via voice commands

PanARMENIAN.Net - Amazon is aiming to make spending money more effortless with an update for its Echo speaker that lets users make purchases via their voice, Digital Spy reports.

It might sound like the future of online shopping, but the feature is limited at launch, restricted to Prime members in the US for the time being.

Only Prime-eligible products can be bought via the system, and Amazon is yet to confirm whether it plans to bring the Echo speaker to the UK and other territories.

With the Echo speaker always listening, it sounds too easy to accidentally order half an Amazon warehouse, but there's a safeguard in place to prevent this from happening.

Users can utter their 'Wake word' followed by "cancel" to stop an accidental order from going through.

Echo is a connected speaker that is designed to instantly provide users with information, news, weather, music and more, using seven microphones and noise-cancelling technology to decipher voice commands.
