Image Entertainment nabs John Travolta thriller “Criminal Activities”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Image Entertainment has acquired North American and U.K. rights to the John Travolta thriller “Criminal Activities,” directed by Jackie Earle Haley, Variety reports.

Diamond Pictures is handling international sales in Cannes.

Haley directed “Criminal Activities” from Robert Lowell’s script. He also co-stars with Travolta, Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”), Michael Pitt (“Boardwalk Empire”), Christopher Abbott (“Girls”), Rob Brown and Edi Gathegi (“X-Men: First Class”).

Image is planning a theatrical release in the fall. The film tells the story of four young men who, while acting on an inside tip, invest in a “sure thing” only to discover the deal going south, thereby putting them in trouble with the mob.

Producers are Wayne Rice, Howard Burd and Micah Sparks. Executive producers are Rodger May, Gayle Nosal and Daniel Diamond.
