George Harrison’s guitar auctioned for nearly half a million dollars

PanARMENIAN.Net - A guitar George Harrison played several times during The Beatles' gigs went under the hammer at an auction taking place at New York's Hard Rock Cafe. The Mastersound electric guitar was purchased by an undisclosed bidder for $490,000, AceShowbiz reports.

According to Julien's Auction, Harrison had the guitar on loan from Barratts music store when his Country Gent was taken to the store to be repaired. He played the guitar in some concerts during the summer of 1963 before it was returned.

Other rock memorabilia available for purchase at the auction included Elvis Presley's suit sold for $122,000, the King of Rock and Roll's marriage certificate from his wedding to Priscilla Presley sold for more than $40,000, Jimi Hendrix's vest sold for $59,000, Madonna's American-flag tank top sold for $25,000, and Michael Jackson's black sequined glove sold for $46,000.
