Facebook Messenger takes on Skype with video chatMay 20, 2015 - 17:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Facebook Messenger has brought the fight to rival platform Skype by rolling out its video calling feature worldwide, Digital Spy reveals. Users on iOS and Android in 18 countries can now make and receive video calls by updating to the latest version of the app. "We're happy to share we've now rolled out the capability globally, with the exception of a few countries we're still working on improving quality for," said Facebook's head of messaging David Marcus. "Make sure you get the latest and greatest version for iOS and Android, give it a try, and as always… tell us how we can make it even better for you." Facebook introduced video calling in select territories including the UK at the end of April, and is now challenging the likes of Skype and Facetime further afield. Both users must have the latest version of the Facebook Messenger app installed to hold a video conversation.
