Samberg stars as a rapper who reunites with his former boy band after his latest solo album flops. His fellow “SNL” alums Sarah Silverman and Tim Meadows will co-star as his sarcastic publicist and overworked manager, respectively. Samberg’s Lonely Island cohorts Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer are directing and co-starring in the movie, which the trio are also producing with Judd Apatow. Morgan Sackett will serve as an executive producer on the project, which is rumored to parody recent music documentaries such as “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” and “Katy Perry: Part of Me.” Universal executive Erik Baiers will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.
