Instagram to start emailing highlightsMay 26, 2015 - 11:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Instagram is relying on the old-fashioned yet still-relevant email to grab your attention, Digital Spy reports. The Facebook-owned photo sharing app has started to send users email Highlights, which give members a brief rundown of what they are missing on the platform. As dated as emailing users may appear, it's another way for Instagram to reach out and re-engage - the likes of Twitter already send out 'Best Of' emails for the same purpose. The approach was first discovered by TechCrunch, who claims that Highlights are so new that there is no control setting to unsubscribe to the alerts yet. Instagram recently updated with three new filters on board and also started allowing emojis to be used in hashtags.
