"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" 1st pic unveiled

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jennifer Lawrence shared the first official photo of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" on her Facebook page on Wednesday, June 3. The first-look picture captures Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen armed with her signature bow and arrow, AceShowbiz reports.

The photo also features Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair and Evan Ross as Messalla. Just like Everdeen, all of them are equipped with their own weapon and it looks like they are ready to fight. "6.9.15 #MockingjayPart2 #Unite," Lawrence captioned the photo. The date written in the caption could indicate the arrival of the first trailer.

The upcoming movie finds the nation of Panem in war, as Everdeen confronts President Snow in the final showdown. She teams up with her closest friends on a mission to assassinate the evil ruler who has become obsessed with destroying her.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, who also directed the second and third installment of the franchise, this final film is due to arrive Stateside on December 20. Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik produce the movie while Danny Strong writes the script. Josh Hutcherson retuns as Peeta and Philip Seymour Hoffman reprises his role as Plutarch Heavensbee, marking his final appearance in a movie. Also joining the cast are Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci and Jena Malone.
