Mark Wahlberg-Will Ferrell comedy “Daddy’s Home” gets release date

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Daddy’s Home” the buddy cop film comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, is joining the Christmas parade. Paramount said Wednesday, June 3 that it will release the film directed by Sean Anders and John Morris on Christmas Day, TheWrap reports.

The holidays are prime season at the box office and typically crowded, but this year will be particularly busy, in part because Disney is rolling out “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on Dec. 18, a week before Christmas. “Sisters,” the Tina Fey-Amy Poehler comedy from Universal, will also open that day.

On Christmas Day, there are now six wide releases set to roll out: Fox’s “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,” Sony’s NFL drama “Concussion” starring Will Smithm David O’Russell’s “Joy” starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro from Fox, Warner Bros.’ “Point Break” remake starring Luke Bracey and Oliver Stone’s “Snowden,” starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley.

“Daddy’s Home” is written by Brian Burns, Etan Cohen, Chris Henchy and Adam McKay. It reteams Wahlberg and Ferrell, whose 2010 comedy “The Other Guys” grossed $170 million worldwide.
