"Rock the Kasbah" star-studded comedy trailer features Bill Murray

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first official trailer for Barry Levinson's drama comedy "Rock the Kasbah" has arrived. Starring Bill Murray, the film offers ridiculous comedy which is mostly set in Afghanistan, AceShowbiz reports.

Murray portrays Richie Lanz, a washed-up rock manager who takes his last remaining client (Zooey Deschanel) on a USO tour of Afghanistan. He tells his client about the crazy plan when they are in a plane heading to Afghanistan. "You will play in front of 2,000 horny soldiers," he tells his client.

In Afghanistan, Lanz finds himself stranded all alone after his client steals his money and passport. While struggling to find his way home, he discovers a young girl with an extraordinary voice. He later manages her through Afghanistan's version of "American Idol".

Bill Block, CEO of QED, assures fans that "Rock the Kasbah" will be an outstanding comedy. "With its brilliant script, superb cast and Barry Levinson at the helm, 'Rock the Kasbah' promises to be a true comedy event on a global scale," he says. "Open Road's proven track record with so many different genres makes them a perfect home for this unique project, and we couldn't be more excited to continue the relationship with Tom and his team," Block adds.

In the upcoming film, Murray leads the cast which includes Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Scott Caan and Bruce Willis. Block produces the movie alongside Jacob Pechenik and Steve Bing while the script is written by Mitch Glazer. "Rock the Kasbah" is slated for a release in U.S. theaters on October 23.
