Facebook for iPhone lets users add links without opening a browser

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sharing web links on Facebook's iPhone app just got easier as users no longer have to open a web browser to do so, Digital Spy said.

Users can now search for external content in-app by selecting a small link icon that appears alongside the Tag Friends button.

"We think this feature makes it much simpler to share web links with your friends on mobile, whether it's an interesting news article, a funny video, or a favourite recipe," said Facebook engineer Tom Whitnah.

Facebook's in-app search engine taps into its Graph Search to find relevant web links that are trending on social media, giving them prominent placement in results.

The feature is exclusive to iPhone for the time being, but Facebook is planning to introduce it to Android and its Messenger service in the future.

Earlier this week, Facebook opened up Messenger to users who do not have an account with the core social network.
