OS X El Capitan beta “reveals inside Mac info”June 29, 2015 - 10:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple's next iMac could be a 21.5-inch model with a 4K Retina display, according to code discovered in the OS X El Capitan beta, Digital Spy reports. French journalist Pierre Dandumont claims to have uncovered references to a 4,096 x 2,304 display resolution hidden in the tester of the software. The 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display is the only Apple machine with a resolution close to this, which suggests it's a reference to a smaller desktop. Dandumont also discovered references to various processors that have never before appeared in an Apple Mac, including AMD Radeon R9 chipsets with the model numbers M380, M390, M395 and M395X. These are also thought to belong to future iMacs since the MacBook Pro line has always favoured Intel components. Unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference this month, OS X El Capitan enters public beta in July before rolling out as a free download in the autumn. Apple could announce new Mac hardware alongside the iPhone 6 in September or hold off until its iPad refresh event later in the year.
