Fitbit trackers outpatching Apple WatchJuly 2, 2015 - 11:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The launch of the Apple Watch was expected to strike a death blow to companies like Fitbit, but figures suggest that has not been the case, Digital Spy reports. Statistics from market analyst Slice suggest that Fitbit trackers are actually outselling the Cupertino firm's wearable, reports Bloomberg. Fitbit trackers reportedly sold 850,000 units in the U.S. during May, compared to the Apple Watch's 777,000 units. Although Fitbit has seven devices on the market at different price points, the Apple Watch was expected to take a Godzilla-sized bite out of its market share. The figures indicate that this has not happened, with only 4.8% of Fitbit owners also buying an Apple Watch. Fitbit currently holds a 68% share of the fitness tracker market and recently proved a smash hit on Wall Street.
