Katniss ready for final battle in “Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2” new pic

PanARMENIAN.Net - A new image from "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" has surfaced online. The image gives a fresh look at Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) with Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) assisting her as they seemingly prepare for the final battle, AceShowbiz reports.

Katniss looks tough wearing her suit while her hair is arranged in the iconic side-braided style. Effie, as usual, looks extraordinary with her costume. She wears a light blue costume with fur ornaments in her shoulders and hips. The two seem to have an intimate moment before Katniss hits the battlefield.

"There is some serious girl power in this movie," said director Francis Lawrence. The director also gave credit to author Suzanne Collins, "She wrote it that way, and it's been so much fun to inhabit."

Francis hinted that the film would surely feature Katniss' sacrifices over revolution against President Snow (Donald Sutherland) along with some emotional moments. "It's probably the most emotional of the bunch," Francis said of the movie. "And I think it's the most satisfying of the bunch."

The upcoming movie finds the nation of Panem in war, as Katniss confronts President Snow in the final showdown. She teams up with her closest friends on a mission to assassinate the evil ruler who has become obsessed with destroying her. Josh Hutcherson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin will reprise their respective roles. Produced by Nina Jacobson, this final film is due to arrive in theaters Stateside on December 20.
