The Libertines announce release of “Anthems For Doomed Youth” album

PanARMENIAN.Net - It's been over a decade-long wait, but The Libertines have finally announced the release of their third album, Anthems For Doomed Youth - and some special live events, Gigwise reports.

After the band stormed Glastonbury last weekend with an inspirational secret set, the Albion boys are back - with the album they've been working for over a year while Pete Doherty recovered from him addictions in Thailand.

The album was produced by Jake Gosling, known for his work with One Direction and seemingly features a more optimistic tone than their past work.

"The Libertines have always been about anthems to doomed youth," said Carl Barat earlier this year. "I'm not entirely sure how happy the new songs will be lyrically, but the message is strong in the new songs. It's doomed youth overcoming hardships with optimism."

The album's release comes shortly after The Libertines return to the UK to headline Reading & Leeds festival across August Bank Holiday weekend, and will also see performances from Metallica, Mumford & Sons, Jamie T, Limp Bizkit, Royal Blood, Kendrick Lamar, Alt-J and many more.
