Google's Hangouts messenger service gets dedicated websiteAugust 19, 2015 - 11:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Google's Hangouts messenger service now has its own dedicated website, so you no longer have to log into Gmail or Google+ to chat, Digital Spy reports. The web-based version of the application lets users see their contacts and conversation history laid out in a glorious full-screen interface. Prominent buttons for video calls, phone calls, and sending messages help users get started when they log in for the first time. "From our new site you'll be able to take advantage of the best of Hangouts in the browser, along with an inspiring image to get you through the day," said Hangouts manager Jordanna Chord in a blog post. The launch of a standalone web service brings Hangouts in line with competitor Facebook Messenger, which also has its own website. Google recently updated its Hangouts app for Android devices, one month after revamping its iOS application.
