Windows 10 reaches 75 million PCs in four weeks

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft's Windows 10 is now into its fourth week, and its adoption figures make encouraging reading for the firm, according to Digital Spy.

Windows marketing chief Yusuf Mehdi has taken to Twitter to boast that the operating system is up and running on 75 million machines.

This is a significant improvement on Windows 8, which sold 40 million licences in its first month, although being released as a free upgrade may have something to do with that.

Mehdi also shared some interesting nuggets about Windows 10 usage, revealing that its store has since seen six times more downloads per device than its Windows 8 counterpart.

Moreover, Xbox One owners are said to have streamed 122 years' worth of gameplay to Windows 10 PCs during the last four weeks. Achievement unlocked!

Windows 10 is free to download for the first year for users on versions of Windows 8 and Windows 7. It is expected to be rolled out to smartphones in the near future.
