GM Levon Aronian wins Sinquefield Cup in St. Louis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Grandmaster Levon Aronian won the 3rd Sinquefield Cup in St. Louis, U.S. with an undefeated final score of 6-3. On Wednesday, September 2, Aronian drew the 9th round game against Bulgaria’s Veselin Topalov, scoring 6 points, Armenian media reports.

World champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway, who saw his chances of a tie for first end with Aronian’s draw, accepted a draw with ex-world titleholder Viswanathan Anand to finish a full point back at 5-4 in the St. Louis tournament.
