"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" unveils first teaser (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - After a first look at "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" set was revealed, 20th Century Fox released the first teaser for the movie. The teaser doesn't give many revelations other than honoring the important event in the story which happened on September 3, 1940, AceShowbiz reports.

The video features a vintage clock that moves backwards every time the needles point at particular numbers. Fans who have already read the book must have known that September 3 is a "Loop Day". In the novel, Miss Peregrine's home is situated in the September 3, 1940 time loop with the clock resetting every day just before the island was bombed by Germany. That was to allow the residents to avoid the disaster.

Based on Ransom Rigg's novel of the same name, the story follows a 16-year-old boy named Jacob (Asa Butterfield) who ventures to a magical place. Jacob has heard a story about the titular orphanage's odd residents, who are said to have super powers, from his grandfather. They include a girl who always floats slightly above the ground, another who can hold fire in her hands and twins who have a psychic ability.

Jacob's grandfather leaves clues to a mystery before he dies and makes Jacob follow the clues to find the magical place. As Jacob explores the abandoned bedrooms and hallways, he finds out that the residents may still be there and are under threat from powerful enemy. Ultimately, Jake learns that only his own special "peculiarity" can save his new friends.

Butterfield stars in the movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Green, Allison Janney, Kim Dickens and Ella Purnell. The mystery movie is scheduled for a U.S. release on March 4, 2016.
