Microsoft rolls out Unified Messaging Skype Beta for Windows 10 Mobile

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft has released the beta of Skype Universal Messaging app to users for testing, Rapid News Network reports.

The new messaging app was reportedly designed to replace the mobile’s, running on Windows 10, default SMS app. This will make the switching between SMS or Skype chat easier.

Windows Phone users can try out the new Skype application that is meant to take over the Messaging application in their smartphone. This integration allows users to switch between over the top (OTT) and cellular communications seamlessly.

Tap the little blue circle with a plus sign in the lower-right corner of Skype and you’ll see a number of available actions, such as record a video message, start a voice or video call, or chat.

The long-anticipated Skype Messaging app is finally here. It is, however, unclear whether the company intended to release the app to the public as accompanying Windows 10 apps are missing.

Skype has also added swipe gestures for making calls and managing messages. The app not only brings a new UI, but is able to send SMS. Instead, at the bottom of the screen users will see icons for viewing recent contacts, their full contact list, the dial pad, and their account info. And there are handy Call and Video links, which launch Phone and Skype Video Preview, respectively.

Obviously, users might experience force close or many other issues while using Messaging Skype Beta.
