Chrome adds Facebook alerts on AndroidSeptember 16, 2015 - 13:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Google has teamed up with Facebook to add social networking notifications to the Chrome browser mobile app, Digital Spy reports. This means that users can receive Facebook alerts on mobile without installing the standalone Android app. This is good news for anyone who isn't fond of Facebook's mobile app, but it's users in developing countries with tight data caps who stand to benefit. Handsets typically come with far less storage space in these territories, too, and Facebook's app demands around 200GB plus a further 100GB for cached data. Google announced that Chrome was gaining the ability to push notifications to mobile users in the spring, and Mark Zuckerberg and co have emerged as the first service provider to take advantage of the feature. If you're not a fan of push notifications of any kind, the feature can be disabled via Facebook's mobile site.
