Pinterest, Topshop to create color palette tool for personal PinsSeptember 16, 2015 - 13:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Pinterest is launching a new product that lets you find your personal color palette based on the color schemes of Pins you’ve saved. This new tool taps into the social network’s strength in fashion and is the result of an integration with women’s fashion provider Topshop, VentureBeat reports. Users can log into sites like Topshop using their Pinterest credentials before selecting one of their saved boards. The new Pinterest Palette (as it’s called) will reveal all the colors that are in the Pins and then recommend some items that might fit that style. Obviously this is first starting with Topshop, but that’s not to say other fashion-centric brands couldn’t also take advantage of Pinterest Palette. This integration makes Topshop the first international developer that’s a part of Pinterest’s Developers Platform since it publicly debuted in July. It joins the likes of IFTTT and fellow fashion site Polyvore. A company spokesperson tells VentureBeat that this tool was timed just for Fashion Weeks that are taking place in New York City, Paris, London, and Milan. What’s more, with fashion as one of the top categories on the social network, having a tool to help men and women dress better and help them understand how to put together outfits could be an empowering thing. Pinterest says that there are more than 24 million fashion ideas Pinned everyday, perhaps by those who happen to stumble across an outfit that looks good and would like to save it for inspiration later on. So the idea is that if you leverage that collection, then go shopping at Topshop now or Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, or even a high-end store later on (depending on if they are part of Pinterest’s program), it’ll provide recommended products that will match your tastes and colors.
