Thom Yorke teases new music for Broadway drama

PanARMENIAN.Net - A 15 second clip of Thom Yorke's original composition for a new broadway drama has been released, Gigwise reports.

Yorke revealed last month that he would be working on the soundtrack for the play, Old Times. Now, a snippet of that music has been released in the form of a TV advert for the stage production.

As you would expect from a Thom Yorke composition, the atmophere is palpable created by these stark and distant sounds that elude to a looming danger negotiating from the cover of darkness, Gigwise said.

Old Times will star Clive Owen, Eve Best and Kelly Reilly under the direction of Douglas Hodge. Speaking about the composition, Hodge said: "The music Thom has written for Old Times gives an immediacy and a ‘now‐ness’ to the show. The play itself is about memory and love — Thom’s music works backwards and forwards and plays with time and repetition in the same way Pinter does.

He continued: "In true Thom Yorke‐style, the music is epic, heartbreaking, irresistible, and complex. I’m hopeful this collaboration will result in a new kind of theatergoer coming to our show."

And it's not just the theatre Yorke has been lending his talents to, he recently debuted an eight-minute IDM track entitled 'Villain' during Rag & Bone's New York Fashion Week.
