VivaCell-MTS helps build houses for residents of border villages

PanARMENIAN.Net - VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian, employees of the Company and the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia team participated in the construction of the half-built house of Karapetyan family from Darbas community in Syunik.

The Karapetyans are a small family of three orphaned brothers: the elder was 14 and the youngest one was 10 when their parents died.

“Life has been hard on these boys, but they were not discouraged anyway. I hope the family will soon grow, and these three young men will be building their own strong families,” President of Fuller Center for Housing Armenia, Ashot Yeghiazaryan said.

40 houses have been built and/or renovated for 40 families this year, with the support of VivaCell-MTS and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia.

“Our worst enemy is indifference. Our organizational and personal effort in helping the Karapetyans build their house stems from an inner belief: we have to lend a helping hand to families living in border villages, which, despite unfavorable social conditions, have made a decision to stay and prosper. Every house symbolizes the beginning of new life,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian commented.

VivaCell-MTS invested AMD100 million (AMD55 million in 2014) in the project in 2015, with Fuller Center for Housing Armenia assigned with implementing it.

The number of the families having their houses renovated or reconstructed will reach 93 by the end of the year.
