“Pitch Perfect 3” comedy release date moved

PanARMENIAN.Net - The release date for “Pitch Perfect 3” has moved back two weeks to Aug. 4, 2017, Universal Pictures announced Tuesday, September 29, according to TheWrap.

Legendary’s “Pacific Rim 2,” which was set for an Aug. 4, 2017 release date, has now been pushed off the release calendar altogether.

According to the studio, “the decision was made to delay the production and release of ‘Pacific Rim 2’ so that the creative team can continue in its efforts to exceed the amazing experience of the first film,” which generated more than $411 million at the global box office.

The July 21 date was looking a little bit crowded before the move by “Pitch Perfect 3,” as Warner Bros.’ untitled Christopher Nolan movie and EuropaCorp’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” were all slated for that date.

Sony’s untitled Spider-Man reboot is currently scheduled for a release on July 28.

In April, Universal announced that Legendary’s “Pacific Rim 2,” to be directed by Guillermo del Toro, would move from April 7, 2017 to Aug. 4, 2017.

A few weeks ago, del Toro said that “as far as I’m concerned, it’s not gone. We’re still on it,” when reports surfaced that the movie had been halted indefinitely.
