Jack Dorsey named full-time CEO of TwitterOctober 6, 2015 - 11:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Jack Dorsey has been named as the full-time CEO of Twitter after doing the job on an interim basis since June, Digital Spy reports. The businessman, who is about to begin his second stint at the helm, will juggle the role with his responsibilities as chief executive of mobile payments company Square. He joins an elite group of tech bosses to have headed up two companies at once, which also includes Tesla boss Elon Musk and late Apple chief Steve Jobs. Dorsey's previous spell as permanent Twitter CEO ended abruptly in 2008 when he was replaced by Evan Williams, who led the latest leader search. His predecessor Dick Costolo has tweeted his approval of the appointment, describing Dorsey as a "calm and thoughtful leader". Dorsey's first job as full-time CEO will be to boost subscriber numbers as Twitter's latest financial results revealed staggered user growth. Rumours suggest that he is toying with the idea of scrapping the service's 140-character limit in a radical attempt to refresh the platform.
