Nuclear deal to boost Iran-Armenia economic ties: official

PanARMENIAN.Net - First Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Morteza Sarmadi said the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers has promoted development of economic ties with Armenia, Mehr news agency reports.

“Armenia has developed excellent relations with Iran since its independence,” Sarmadi said at a meeting with Armenian ambassador to Tehran Artashes Tumanyan. “Iran’s deal with P5+1 paved the way for further cooperation, especially in the sector of economy.” Tumanyan said, in turn, that a large number of Armenian companies are willing to broaden cooperation with Iran in the post-sanction era.

As the ambassador noted referring to Armenia’s membership in Eurasian Economic Union, “Iranian firms’ investments in Armenia will enable them to export goods to the EEU member states.”
