New Microsoft Band to be unveiled in OctoberOctober 8, 2015 - 11:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft has revealed a second-generation version of its sensor-packed fitness tracker, the Microsoft Band, Digital Spy reports. The wearable introduces a healthy amount of new features, including a curved design that makes the device more ergonomic than its predecessor. It comes loaded with all of the same sensors as before, allowing users to track their sleep, calories burned, distance travelled and more, as well as receive notifications. There's also a brand new sensor - a barometer for measuring altitude, which should prove useful if you're a mountaineering enthusiast. The new Band's display is made from curved Gorilla Glass 3 that is scratch-resistant and more durable than the display on the original model. Cortana integration has also been improved, with Microsoft's virtual assistant now rescheduling workouts that you missed. Like its predecessor, the new Band works with iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices and links up with the cross-platform Microsoft Health app. The new Microsoft Band is available to pre-order today, priced at £199.99, and will ship on October 30.
