Foreign Minister hopes for constructive Armenia-EU cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian hailed the EU Foreign Affairs Council’s decision to authorize the European Commission to launch talks with Armenia on forming new legal framework for development of bilateral relations.

“We hope the document will best express the depth of mutually constructive Armenia-EU cooperation, reflect the joint commitment to raise our relations to a new level and outline the comprehensive partnership in all areas of mutual interest,” Nalbandian said.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council has authorized the European Commission to launch negotiations with Armenia.

The new deal between the EU and Armenia is expected to cover certain areas of political and economic cooperation, without “hindering Armenia’s membership commitments to the EEU.”
