Lena Dunham’s 1960s feminism comedy pilot sells to HBO

PanARMENIAN.Net - Deepening her relationship with the network, Lena Dunham just sold a comedy pilot to HBO, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Max, described as a 1960s-set comedy about a magazine writer who accidentally stumbles into the women's movement during second-wave feminism, will star actress Lisa Joyce as the titular Maxine. The Hollywood Reporter also has confirmed that Dunham will direct the pilot.

Girls writer-producer Murray Miller is penning the script, and fellow Girls team members Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress are also on board to executive produce. Max is hardly Dunham's first extracurricular at HBO outside of her own comedy vehicle. She also produced documentary short It's Me, Hilary: The Man Who Drew Eloise and the upcoming Three Suits.

Joyce's recent acting credits include Boardwalk Empire, DirecTV comedy Billy & Billie and Ricki and the Flash.
