“Ratchet and Clank” animation unveils first trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Video game series "Ratchet & Clank" is getting a movie treatment for a 2016 release and has been previewed in a full-length trailer. Making its way out via Apple, the video follows the journey of Ratchet (James Arnold Taylor) who dreams of being a Galactic Ranger, AceShowbiz reports.

Initially rejected as a new recruit for the Galactic Rangers, he forms an unlikely friendship with an escaped robot called Clank (David Kaye) and teams up with Captain Qwark (Jim Ward), the leader of the Galactic Rangers, to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek (Paul Giamatti) from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy.

According to the official synopsis, Ratchet is the last of his kind, a foolhardy "lombax" who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn.

When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way, they will learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one's own identity.

The trailer hints at a lighthearted tone and is full of cheesy humor that is appropriate for all ages. The sci-fi movie directed by Kevin Munroe will hit theaters across the nation on April 29, 2016. John Goodman, Bella Thorne, Rosario Dawson and Sylvester Stallone also lend their voices for the movie.
