Facebook letting you search 2 trillion posts like Google

PanARMENIAN.Net - Facebook is now letting you search its history of posts with a Google-style engine called Search FYI, Digital Spy reports.

The social network has retooled its search function so users can now find out what the whole world is saying about the latest topics.

Search FYI has an index of 2 trillion posts. There are already over 1.5 billion searches per day on Facebook, but this could well rise with Search FYI.

The improved engine says that it offers "better search suggestions" by highlighting what's happening right now as you type as well as displaying search results with public posts as well as posts from friends.

You will also be able to follow public conversations, where you can find public posts about a specific link and dive into the discussion.

The updates are rolling out now in U.S. English on iPhone, Android and desktop.

Meanwhile, an Irish data watchdog has been ordered to probe Facebook's data transfers to the US following allegations that the firm is in cahoots with American spy agencies.
