Death Grips announce release of new album, “Bottomless Pit”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Death Grips have announced that they're set to release a new album, Bottomless Pit - an announcement that they accompanied with a rather bizarre, strangely moving video, Gigwise reports.

The experimental hip hop group released their fourth studio album, The Powers That B, this year. It was a double LP, and the second half, Jenny Death, leaked online in March.

Now, they're set to follow this up with Bottomless Pit - though they're yet to reveal its release date, artwork or tracklisting.

What they have revealed is a 14-minute video shot in 2013, which features 70s film star Karen Black (known for her roles in Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces and the Great Gatsby) just months before her death.

As the film's intro explains, "Karyn Rachtman introduced Ms. Black to Zach Hill. The two immediately hit it off. Zach had written a part for Karen for a film he was developing and gave her the pages for her scenes. Though she didn’t know how the scenes would fit into the final film, she readily agreed to read her character’s dialog on camera for Zach."

Death Grips officially announced their disbandment in 2014, posting on Facebook, "Death Grips is over. We have officially stopped." As is now abundantly clear, this was completely untrue.
