David Bowie confirms release of new album, “Blackstar”

PanARMENIAN.Net - David Bowie has confirmed that he's set to drop a brand new album, Gigwise reports.

Bowie's last record, The Next Day, was released in 2013 as his first in a decade - marking an exquisite comeback for the Thin White Duke.

Now, it looks like we won't have to wait as long for another.

After Bowie unveiled the awesome new track 'Blackstar' from new TV show The Last Panthers, it's not being reported that he'll be releasing an album of the same name. It all started when The Times claimed that he'll be dropping the record on 8 January to mark his 69th birthday.

They reported that his 25th album clocks in at around 45 minutes and is seven tracks long, after being recorded at Magic Shop in New York City with a group of jazz musicians. The best part? It's said to be 'his oddest album yet' and 'completely bonkers'.

Now however, Bowie has issued a statement to confirm and clarify the news: "It can now be confirmed that ‘Blackstar’ is the forthcoming single and album from David Bowie.

"Contrary to inaccurate reporting on the sound and content of the album, only the following can be confirmed: The single will be released on November 20th and is not part of David’s theatre piece ‘Lazarus’. The album will be released on David’s birthday, January 8th 2016."

Meanwhile, Bowie is said to have 'retired' from touring, but has written songs for a Spongebob Squarepants musical, and has written a musical stage adaptation of The Man Who Fell To Earth named Lazarus.
