Picture Tree Intl. acquires “The Dark Side of the Moon” thrillerNovember 4, 2015 - 18:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Berlin-based Picture Tree Intl. has acquired world sales rights to thriller “The Dark Side of the Moon”, which stars Moritz Bleibtreu (“Run Lola Run,” “The Fifth Estate”), Juergen Prochnow (“The Boat,” “The Da Vinci Code”) and Nora von Waldstaetten (“Famous Five 3,” “Life Eternal”), Variety reports. Picture Tree’s Andreas Rothbauer and Yuanyuan Sui will be introducing Stephan Rick’s film to buyers at the American Film Market this week. In the movie, a psychedelic mushroom trip brings out the dark side of lawyer Urs Blank’s personality. He flees to the woods in search of an antidote, but the police and his vindictive business partner are on his tracks. The film will be released in Germany on Jan. 14 by Alamode, followed by theatrical releases in Switzerland by Filmcoopi, and Austria by Thimfilm. Rick and Catharina Junk wrote the screenplay, based on Martin Suter’s novel, which has been published in France, Netherlands, Spain, Russia, China, Turkey, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The movie is produced by Port Au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion and Iris Prods. The producers are Amir Hamz, Jan Krueger and Nicolas Steil.
