Metallica tease fans with new material

PanARMENIAN.Net - Metallica have released a sneak peek of some new music in a video introducing their new website - with James Hetfield playing a few huge riffs in the recording studio, Gigwise reports.

After speaking about their new site, drummer Lars Ulrich introduces us to James Hetfield, who jokes that he's "playing drums” before playing a few gloriously heavy riffs. Ulrich quickly scidaddles to say goodbye to the camera before opening up the studio door one last time, previewing another pretty sweet little teaser.

The band have been crafting new music since at least last year, the group debuting new track ‘Lords of Summer’ on their Metallica by Request tour. In March, Ulrich told Rolling Stone that "the creative elements [of the album] are close to being done."

At the end of last month, guitarist Kirk Hammett told Ultimate Classic Rock that he was waiting for Hetfield to finish recording so he could start working on his parts.

He also added that the style of music was “along the lines of Death Magnetic," the band's most recent album which came back all the way in 2008. Needless to say, Metallica fans have been waiting long enough now for some new sonic chaos.

Metallica also recently announced that they'll play a gig in San Francisco a day before the Super Bowl. They've called the show "The Night Before" and it'll take place 6 February in San Francisco, with Cage The Elephant serving as support.
