Shailene Woodley, Theo James in “Allegiant” trailer (video) November 16, 2015 - 12:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have released a new trailer for “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” with Shailene Woodley and Theo James front and center as Tris and Four, Variety reports. The duo tries to survive its first-ever trip outside the wall that encloses post-apocalyptic Chicago, meeting up in a scientific complex headed up by a vaguely sinister official portrayed by Jeff Daniels. The footage in the trailer features an array of battle scenes as Woodley and James attempt to deter plans to destroy Chicago. The third film in the Woodley franchise is scheduled to open March 18, 2016. The fourth and final pic has been renamed “The Divergent Series: Ascendant” and will open March 24, 2017. Both movies are based on Veronica Roth’s “Allegiant,” the third novel in her “Divergent” trilogy, which begins with the Faction system being dismantled. The first two films — “Divergent” and “Insurgent” — have grossed nearly $600 million worldwide. At the end of the second film, Woodley’s character Tris learned she had been part of an experiment to heal post-apocalyptic Earth. Taglines for the films are “Break the boundaries of your world” for the third and “The end is never what you expect” for the fourth.
