Eagles Of Death Metal speak out in first interview since Paris attacks (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - Eagles Of Death Metal have spoken out in their first interview since ISIS struck the band on tour, killing 89 of their fans at their Paris gig, Gigwise reports.

The band's Zipper Down tour hit The Bataclan on Friday 13 November, when terrorists struck and opened fire. Since then, fans have moved to show their solidarity and support for the band and victims by launching a campaign to get their cover of Duran Duran's 'Save A Prayer' to No.1 - peaking at No.55 this week.

As the names of the music fans and industry people at the gig were revealed, Eagles Of Death Metal broke their silence with a statement that thanked the world for their support, adding: "Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris, and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together, with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion."

Now, the band have given their first interview since the ordeal - speaking openly and frankly with Vice.

"Several people hid in our dressing room, and the killers were able to get in and killed every one of them except for a kid who was hiding under my leather jacket," says frontman Jesse Hughes in the video. "People were playing dead and they were so scared - a great reason why so many were killed is because so many people wouldn't leave their friends.

"So many people put themselves in front of people."

Meanwhile, Josh Homme is raising money for the victims through his Sweet Stuff Foundation.
