“Embrace of the Serpent” takes top prize at IFFI Goa FestDecember 1, 2015 - 13:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Colombian film “Embrace of the Serpent”, directed by Ciro Guerra and produced by Cristina Gallego, won the best film award at the 46th International Film Festival of India (Nov. 20 – 30), in Goa, Variety reports. Serbian film “Enclave”, directed by Goran Radovanovic, received a special mention from the jury led by Shekhar Kapur. British filmmaker Peter Greenaway was adjudged best director for his English and Spanish language “Eisenstein in Guanajuato,” which is a Netherlands, Mexico, Finland, Belgium and France co-production. Vincent Lindon won best actor (male) award for Stephane Brize’s French film “The Measure of a Man.” Actresses Gunes Sensoy, Doga Doguslu, Tugba Sunguroglu, Elit Iscan and Ilayda Akdogan shared the best actor (female) award for their ensemble performance in Deniz Gamze Erguven’s Turkish film “Mustang”. Julia Vargas’ Bolivian film “Sealed Cargo” won the special jury award. Indian filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly received the newly introduced UNESCO-Fellini medal for his Bengali-language “Cinemawalla.” Oscar-winning Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov was honoured with a lifetime achievement award.
