“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” helmer to develop “Spring Offensive”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Fox has acquired political thriller “Spring Offensive”, a spec by Matthew McInerney-Lacombe, with Matt Reeves’ 6th and Idaho banner producing, Variety has learned.

Adam Kassan will produce for 6th and Idaho with Rafi Crohn overseeing the project for the company. “Spring Offensive” is being developed as a directing vehicle for Reeves, who helmed Fox’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”.

The logline for “Spring Offensive,” described as a smart female-driven political thriller, is being kept under wraps.

Reeves signed a three-year first-look deal at Fox in 2014 following the release of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” which grossed $710 million worldwide. His directing credits include “Let Me In” and “Cloverfield” and he’s currently directing “War for the Planet of the Apes,” due out in 2017.
