Chrome for Android adds data server mode

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google is well aware of how frustrating it can be when you're trying to load a web page on your mobile with one signal bar, which is why it's added this new feature to Chrome on Android.

The web browser now includes a Data Saver mode that displays only text when a weak connection is detected, Digital Spy said.

The feature is said to use up to 70% less mobile data by removing images - so if you're only reading articles, it makes sense to activate it regardless of signal quality.

Users can call up images manually if their connection suddenly picks up, or tap to load them individually.

Chrome users in India and Indonesia have received the update now and it's coming to other territories "in the coming months".

In other web browser news, Samsung just has released virtual reality-optimised internet surfing for its Gear VR headset.
