PanARMENIAN.Net - Kurt Russell may join "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in a coveted role. As AceShowbiz reports citing a scoop from TheWrap, the actor is eyed to portray the on-screen father of Chris Pratt's Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord. He reportedly has read the script but no official offer has been made.

If Russell signs on for the "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel, he will reunite with his "Furious 7" co-star Vin Diesel who is back as Groot. Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista also reprise their roles as Gamora and Drax the Destroyer. They are joined by Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon.

James Gunn from the first film also returns at the helm for the second installment. It's scheduled to arrive in theaters Stateside starting May 5, 2017.
