New Line nabs “The Burn” action-adventure from “The Conjuring” scribes

PanARMENIAN.Net - New Line has preemptively picked up “The Burn”, an action-adventure pitch from “The Conjuring” scribes Chad and Carey Hayes, Variety reports.

The project is described as a tentpole akin to “Top Gun” and “Backdraft,” and is centered in the world of elite wildlife firefighters.

Beau Flynn is producing “The Burn” via his FlynnPictureCo. Wendy Jacobson will oversee for FlynnPictureCo, while Richard Brener, Michael Disco and Samuel J. Brown are spearheading for New Line.

Flynn is currently in pre-production on Paramount’s “Baywatch,” starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. The company is also developing “Rampage,” which is based on the classic arcade game with Johnson and director Brad Peyton, who worked together on “San Andreas.”

The Hayes brothers, repped by WME, Circle of Confusion and attorney Jeff Frankel, are best known for their work in the horror field, most recently penning New Line’s “The Conjuring 2.” They also wrote and produced the supernatural thriller “The Crucifixion,” which stars “Kingsman” actress Sophie Cookson and is due out next year.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
