“Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” passes $600 million worldwide

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” has passed the $600 million mark at the worldwide box office, Variety reports.

The final film in the Jennifer Lawrence four-movie franchise grossed approximately $1.4 million domestically on Tuesday for a domestic total to date of $257.1 million. It grossed around $1 million internationally for an international cume of $343.6 million.

The four Hunger Games franchise films have now grossed over $2.9 billion at the global box office.

“Mockingjay – Part 2” crossed the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office on Nov. 25, a week after its first showings in some foreign territories on Nov. 18. It debuted to $102.7 million in its first weekend in the U.S, scoring what was then the fifth best opening of 2015 — and the lowest of the franchise.

The previous three “Hunger Games” set a high bar for the finale. The first film took in $694 million worldwide, followed by “Catching Fire” with $865 million and “Mockingjay: Part 1” with $755 million.

The top international markets for “Mockingjay 2” are the UK with $39 million and Germany with $37 million.
