Capri-Hollywood Fest honors Jennifer Jason Leigh for “Hateful 8” role

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jennifer Jason Leigh has been named best supporting actress by the Capri-Hollywood International Film Festival for her role in “The Hateful Eight”, Variety reports.

She will receive the prize at the festival on Tuesday, December 29. Leigh’s performance also won the best supporting actress award from the National Board of Review, in addition to earning Golden Globe and BFCA Critics Choice nominations.

“The experience of being in one of Quentin’s films and a part of this phenomenal cast was rewarding in and of itself, but to be honored by such an incredible institution as the Capri-Hollywood Film Festival makes it all the more meaningful,” she said. “Pascal Vicedomini and the entire organization have made this event a pillar of the awards season, and I am flattered beyond words to be recognized by them this year.”

The 70mm version of “The Hateful Eight” premiered to $4.5 million at 100 U.S. locations during the Christmas weekend. The film will expand to a nationwide release on Thursday.

Leigh stars plays a prisoner in the custody of a bounty hunter, played by Kurt Russell. Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern and Channing Tatum also star in the film.
